The second day of Amazon Prime Day has arrived, and Apple Watch is still enjoying some bonanza savings across the entire range. Of all the Apple Watch models we've reviewed, the best discounts we're seeing are on the Apple Watch Series 8, and the Apple Watch SE.

That includes good savings on the cellular version of the Apple Watch, which gives you data on the move without the need for an iPhone, perfect for hikes or those long runs.

Is now a good time to buy an Apple Watch?

If you aren't worried about getting Apple's latest and greatest, then this is absolutely the best time to buy an Apple Watch. Apple will unveil a new series of models later this year, likely in September. But retailers like Amazon know this already, which is why they're trying to clear the decks of stocks with generous discounts. 

The Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 8 are both now sitting at their previous best-ever discounts, while the Apple Watch Ultra is not. The latter is the only one you might want to hold off on, as a previous low price of $739 isn't without question as Prime Day continues. 

Apple Watch Cellular vs GPS: What's the difference?

Put simply, a cellular Apple Watch can connect to the internet using 4G without your iPhone nearby. That means you can stream music, podcasts, and receive and make calls and texts all while your iPhone sits safely at home. It's perfect for long runs and hiking. If you always carry your iPhone with you, a regular model should do you just fine!

What is Prime Day?

Prime Day is Amazon’s yearly sale and it runs over two days in mid-July. Amazon won’t tell you the exact dates until a few days before the event, so watch those emails to see any updates. 

Do I need a Prime account?

Technically, yes, for most of the deals, you will need an Amazon Prime account. All the very best deals are reserved for Prime members. However, and it’s good however, there are also deals for everyone over the Prime Day sales, so you don’t have to worry too much about getting an account.

If you don’t have an account, and you haven’t had one before, you can sign up for the Amazon Prime free trial – you get free access to Amazon Prime video as well. You’ll have to pay after 30 days, however.

What can I expect from Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day won't just have deals on Apple Watches – expect to see them on loads of different products. That will likely include Apple Watch cases and straps as well, so if you're looking for some accessories then it may well be a great time to drop the hammer.
